HR Generalist
Overview:
The Financial Services Group HR Generalist has a wide-ranging role, which will incorporate a specialisation in TUPE for support to our Global Business Process Outsourcing business.
The general HR functions will focus on the proactive management of employee relations issues, organisational development, management of employee benefit programs (pension and private medical insurance) and the HR administrative function within the assigned geography.
The HR Generalist will help the Regional HR Manager in the smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures and is required to operate independently with minimal supervision. The HR Generalist is required to have a generalist background and must maintain an awareness of legislative changes impacting existing contracts, policies and/or established practices and proactively manage change and compliance.
Key Result Areas:
TUPE
? Managing the TUPE due diligence process for our outsourcing business from an HR perspective
? Negotiate employment terms for transferred staff with client
? Propose cost allocation either to the Client or the Company based on the Client's proposed course of action following transfer
? Responsible for alerting senior management to potential pitfalls in terms of post transfer HR liabilities.
? Recommends, develops, implements and/or communicates HR policies and procedures to be used in TUPE transfers.
? Prepare all necessary documentation for the successful completion of the TUPE process
? Organise and attend all necessary consultation meetings
? Liaise with all relevant parties to ensure appropriate benefits are in place for the transfer
GENERAL HR
? Manage the recruitment process for the geography to include obtaining headcount approval, sourcing, job offers and contracts in conjunction with HR Generalist
? New hire orientation
? Manage the benefits programs within their geography to include pension plans, medical schemes and insurance plans
? Ensure the US based programs are implemented within the geography (where appropriate) to include: performance leadership appraisal process, bonus plans, etc.
? Proactively manage employee relations issues within the geography. Leading on performance issues, disciplinaries and grievances, as well as, advice and guidance on policies and procedures. Escalate issues and partner with the HR Manager or Regional HR Manager where appropriate.
? Serve as the communication link to Finance/payroll agents regarding payroll changes.
? Conducts exit interviews and ensure that attrition data is recorded and trends are reported to the Regional HR Manager.
? Ensure employee data is kept up to date and is available for management reporting within geography and to the US in HR database.
? With Regional HR Manager, manage any workforce reduction programs to be carried out in the region.
? Manage annual performance leadership process.
? Maintenance and upkeep of all employee personnel files.
? Preparation and distribution of monthly headcount statistics.
? Complete projects as designated by Regional HR Manager.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent experience. CIPD qualified.
Experience:
Preferably 5 years plus in HR with significant exposure to TUPE, ideally within the Financial Services sector. Exposure to European employment law and practices would be advantageous.
Skills:
? Must have a generalist HR background.
? Technical experience in TUPE is essential.
? Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal).
? Confident and professional presentation skills.
? Solid analytical skills.
? Customer focused.
? Computer literate.
