Trade finance clerk


Job Purpose:

To administer Trade Finance Transactions on behalf of the bank.

Primary Accountabilities and Principle Tasks:

1. To handle trade Finance transactions in relation to discounting, confirmations, security regarding issuance of letter of credit and Guarantees.
2. Checking sufficient bank and country lines are available.
3. To prepare and circulate Credit Applications for Credit Committee consideration, covering Discounting, confirmations, Refinancing, facilities, Guarantees and Issuance of Letter of Credit.
4. To prepare accounting entries, keep record, maintain files.
5. To monitor Exposure (Faye) and keep up to date.
6. To prepare documentations for primary and secondary market transactions, ie. offer letter, confirmations etc
7. To receive and administrate third party notification of assignment
8. To liaise with relevant sections and departments to achieve successful completion
9. To help with marketing, develop and maintain relationships with clients and financial counterparties.
10. To prepare and provide various Trade finance related stats, listings
11. Prepare documentation for any ?off- loaded? items.
12. To assist wherever necessary/required within department/ bank.


Competencies:

1. Good communicative and computer skills
2. Attention to detail
3. Knowledge of documentary Credits and secondary market transactions would be beneficial
4. To be with the bank's procedure manual in general and the sections dealing with Documentary Credits in particular.
5. To have at least 1 year's experience in banking in general.
