HVAC Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer
An East London based Local Authority client has an immediate need for a Mechanical Services Design Engineer to undertake the design of small, medium and large scale heating ventillation and airconditioning schemes on public access buildings ranging from civic offices through to schools and colleges.Ideally from a Local Authority background, the mechanical services design engineer will have a recognised academic qualification in Mechanical Building Services - HVAC, Heating Ventillation and Air Conditioning, Mechanical Services DesignThe candidate should be highly motivated and an experienced design professional to work within the in-house mechanical engineering and energy services group.Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Services Manager the candidate will provide professional support and advice in respect of feasibility studies, full scheme design including technical specification, drawings, contract supervision and administration. Working principally on schools and public buildings the duties will include dealing with projects from initial design through to final account stage as well as addressing all Health and Safety issues relating to all aspects of building services and construction. A working knowledge of legionella control, asbestos regulations and gas safety regulations is required.The candidate will need to comply with the Councils standing orders and and procedures. The candidate should have significant relevant experience in all aspects of mechanical building services including heating and domestic water services, ventilation and air conditioning, gas and control systems. be well organised with a decisive approach and be able to prioritise and organise workloads to meet deadlines. It is essential that you are conversant with and have the ability to use AutoCad. Design Services has an interesting and varied workload in various building types including boiler and pipe work replacement in schools and mechanical installations to new buildings, extensions and adaptations.Qualifications - HNC or degree level in Mechanical Engineering / Environmental Engineering and/or have qualifications and experience leading to a CIBSE Corporate Member.
