Head of PRU Centre
We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced SEN teacher with senior management experience to become the head of a PRU centre in Somerset.

The role includes, but is not limited to:
? Responsible for a team of teaching and other support staff and effective management of responsibilities within the team
? Responsible for the professional development and performance management of staff at the Centre
? Responsible for the management of the Centre budget in line with the relevant Local Authority and Service policies
? Responsible for the assessment and monitoring of student progress and regular reporting to parents/carers and schools
? Responsible for the emotional health and well being of students and standards of student behaviour at the Centre and within its immediate community
? Responsible for in close collaboration with parents, carers and stakeholders manage the effective reintegration and transition of pupils at the Centre into mainstream schooling and/or further or specialist education, training and employment
? Responsible for Centre self-evaluation involving all staff and stakeholders
? Responsible for high quality relationships with partner schools, support services, other agencies and Local Authority staff
? ensuring, through quality outreach work and within the resources of the Centre, that students attached to the Centre are effectively supported in other educational establishments and alternative provision
? Ensure effective communication with parents/carers and other stakeholders in relation to the young people attached to the Centre and ensure that they are fully informed about placement decisions; involved in admission and timetabling arrangements; receive regular reports on progress and are informed about arrangements for reviews.
? Foster and maintain effective relationships with schools, with due regard to management structures, pastoral and academic structures and the role and responsibilities of SENCOs.
? Deliver and contribute to in-service training that will encourage good practice in meeting the needs of pupils with social, emotional, behavioural needs and learning difficulties.
Essential Skills include:
1. Education to graduate level with qualified teacher status.
2. A minimum of five years successful recent teaching experience including significant direct work with pupils who present social, emotional and behavioural difficulties or disaffection in a mainstream, special or pupil referral setting.
3. Ability to lead, manage and motivate a team.
4. Knowledge of KS 2/3/4 curriculum requirements and recent curriculum initiatives as they relate to young people with SEBD.
5. Knowledge and experience of school self evaluation processes and performance management.
You must also be committed, enthusiastic with excellent problem solving skills. A creative approach to teaching is a definate bonus.
