TRAIN AS A PARALEGAL - WORK WITH THE CLIENTS - £30K - CITY
Fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal or a Legal Secretary looking to move into this type of work at one of the City's friendliest law firms. Duties include:
1.Telephone attendance to take new enquiries within the scope of the Probate Dept, the like in ongoing matters with clients, solicitors, probate registrars, banks, share registrars and other relevant parties.
2.(a)administration of estates, to include ascertaining assets and liabilities and their valuation, preparation of oaths for executors and administrators, realising assets; moving funds to and from our client deposit accounts, making interim distributions, preparation and maintenance of accounts including analysis of income, preparation of transfers
(b)liaising with clients and others ? handling forms, cheques, documents
(c)producing Inland Revenue forms such as IHT200, IHT205, IHT207, IHT30, IHT38, SDLT returns, tax deduction certificates, etc.; where applicable, lodging online
(d)familiarity with UK taxation an advantage and the candidate will in any case be expected to acquire expertise in this area
(e)administration of trusts, including trusts of personal injury damages, to include the preparation and maintenance of accounts, arranging distributions, generating tax statements and information for HMRC and for trustees and beneficiaries
(f)preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney
(g)other matters as agreed from time to time
3.Minor conveyancing matters involved in the transfer of assets requiring registration at HM Land Registry, to include vesting assents and transfers subject to mortgage; preparing and registering notices of severance; any necessary training to be given.
4.Dealing with routine wills starting from standard documents.
5.Meeting clients including to take preliminary instructions, to obtain execution of wills and for identification purposes.
6.Collating outgoing post and arranging for dispatch.
7.Filing and diary management.
Training will be given where necessary, but the firm is looking for somebody with knowledge of basic procedures and forms. You should also be familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and similar software, and will be expected to learn and use the firm's case management system.
Benefits in addition to salary.
Salary: £30000 per annum + Benefits
