Project Manager


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to work on restoration and conservation projects for a major contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in Public sector refurbishment, primarily educational establishments and hospitals to the value of £4-7m

The Client:
My client has traded as a building contractor in London and the South East since the 1930's. With an in-depth knowledge of each of the sectors in which they operate and an ability to understand the aspirations of the client enables them to offer innovative solutions based on past experience and expertise.

The Role:
? Oversee a team of managers on a multi-million pound project ensuring that all aspects of quality, time and cost are controlled.
? Communicate effectively with team and lead by clear direction.
? Produce periodic progress reports for management and for monthly progress meetings.
? Ensure safe working environment
? Chair pre order meetings with subcontractors / suppliers
? Assist in preparation of the construction programme
? Ensure adequate resources are maintained to achieve the objectives of the programme, within set budgetary limits
? Monitor the master programme and produce short term programmes
? Maintain allocation sheets for all works
? Complete the daily diary, plant and material forms
? Ensure adequate provisions are in place to manage the companies' plant.
? Ensure, in line with the companies Management Procedures, that materials are checked on site and verified against delivery dockets
? Produce basic progress reports
? Attend site meetings internally or with the professional team and manage potential risk to the company
? Ensure and maintain a high standard of quality
? Run a safe site and improve safety for the work force
? Read drawings and take off materials
? Review and implement method statements and risk assessments
? Conduct weekly tool box talks and complete tool box log
? Have regular meetings with the job surveyor and provide necessary paperwork for substantiation of variations or additional costs
? Complete the works to programme and within cost
? Work to the Management Procedures manual
