3rd Line Systems/Support Engineer City of London (Legal Experience is a MUST!!!)
Experienced 3RD Line Support/Systems Engineer is required for one of the top City Silver Circle Law Firms. Experience within the Legal Sector is a MUST, as you will be working with Industry specific software.
3rd Line Systems/Support Engineer's predominantly are of responsibility will be to support the companies financial application set and their Microsoft product range. My client has offices all over Europe and is a world leading company in their sector.
The role Sits within the Applications Support Team that is responsible for the support, stability and integrity of the UK and centrally managed global applications. Ensuring the systems comply with the IT strategy, are monitored, secure, supported, maintained and perform in accordance with an agreed SLA.
The team is responsible for capacity planning, and full documentation of IT systems and associated applications, ensuring that appropriate disaster recovery plans and processes are in place.
They also provide technical design, implementation and troubleshooting to approved technical and other development projects across their international offices.
Main responsibilities will be to support the firms financial application set and the Microsoft product range. Will include duties such as:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 3rd Line support of finance applications
- Acting as an interface between 3rd line and the finance development team
- Active support of an SQL Environment
- Mentoring 1st / 2nd / 3rd Line teams for finance applications
- Active Involvement in 3rd Line projects
Essential Skills:
- Microsoft Windows 2000/03, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/05,MS Exchange 2003
- Active Directory, Knowledge of IIS
- Good networking skills TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS, SMTP
- Desirable Skills:
- Industry specific software i.e. Elite/Carpe Diem/Interwoven Worksite.
- An MCP/MCSE/ITIL/Prince2 would be advantageous not essential
Experience of creating support process documentation, working in a project team is a distinct advantage. Breaking into the legal market is exceptionally difficult, however this client is more interested in meeting someone with an admirable personality and exceptionally strong skills in the relevant technologies.
Salary: £35000 - £45000 per annum + Bonus + Medical + Pension
