Permanent Way Engineer

Major Rail consultancy is currently recruiting for a Permanent Way Design Engineer. The ideal individual will be a competent Engineer with working experience in the Railway industry, either on LUL/Metro or National Railways.
Technical abilities should include practical experience of InRail or MxRail, CAD MicroStation or AutoCAD, Laser Sweep/Clear Route assessment. In addition you should possess an OND/HND in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
General duties include: optioneering designs, both horizontally and vertically, scheme layouts, depots / sidings, drainage design, liaison with Client and preparation of feasibility reports.
Experience
Sufficient experience with a Consultant or Contractor primarily focused on design within the Rail industry.
Consideration would be given to Highway Engineers who wish to cross train into the rail environment, but these Engineers would need to have very strong survey, MX and CAD design background, and be willing to undertake self motivated training to learn both the necessary design skills, and knowledge of the rail industry that the post will require.
