Single Room In Battersea - GBP360
Single Room In Battersea - GBP360
Sorry all people who applied for this before, our flatmate was not making up his mind, but now here it is again and this time he's going.
The flat or two storey maisonette as I believe they are called is located on the first floor of a lovely block of flats that is only three flats high (i.e. not those horrible really tall council towers). It has secured entrances accessible with a swipe key and is situated around a well kept courtyard with its own benches, squirrels and grass (yes it has grass too). Although south London is notorious for trouble it is peaceful and serene inside with a more family environment. The flat has connections to many places in London. There is bus routes on either side (no more than a 3min walk) taking you to west London (i.e. south Kensington, shepherds bush etc, Liverpool St, Fulham) and central, although there are many more routes that I just don't know details for. Good for IC students as it is a CHEAP 10-15 min bike ride to uni or what I did for a whole year a 35-40min walk. It is a nice trip to uni as the flat is a minute away from the Thames and we just follow that up to Battersea Bridge. Also only 10mins walk from Clapham Junction.
The flat insides are not modern at all and it definitely isn't the prettiest flat, but it is very comfortable living. The upstairs bathroom is large and has just had the floor and shower replaced. Most of the house is either lino or real wood and although again not the smoothest best finish it is comfortable and easy to clean. The downstairs WC is compact (uh..small) but removes certain inconveniences. The kitchen is large and double doors open into the lounge where there are sofas etc and a TV. The kitchen has an oldish freezer, brand new fridge, brand new tumble dryer, practically brand new washing machine, a dining table and chairs, really ugly work surfaces and cupboards but clean and hygienic, oven etc. There is also some storage space and three bedrooms for the three other tenants.
The last room available in our flat is compact (again small), but has a desk, lockable cupboard, bed, chest of drawers. It is by a road which can be noisy (mainly in the day), so probably best not for a light sleeper. The rent does reflect the size and is cheap considering the size of the flat in total.
The tenants for 01.10.2008-01.10.2009 are:
David: Me. 22yo male and I pretend to study physics at IC.
Oli: 22yo former IC student currently working.
Mikkel: 22yo Danish phd student studying computing.
We are all outgoing easy people to get on with like pubs and clubs (occasionally) and general socializing. We are looking for someone (not necessarily a student) who is easy to get on with, clean (not to a really fussy point but respectable i.e. rotting food is a no-no), considerate and of course good fun. Two of us smoke but keep it to our rooms.
Move in date is from 15th Febuary, but an earlier date could be arranged.
A deposit of GBP536.50 is required (6 weeks security deposit).
Every calender months rent of GBP360 must be paid on the 1st of each month.
This is EXCLUSIVE of bills which will be split between members of the flat: ie gas electricity, water (these don't really come to much, probably just over GBP5 per week). If you are employed council tax will need to be paid between yourself and Oli, but it is discounted for living with students. (maybe up to GBP40 per month, but should be less).
