It Support, 2nd Line.

IT Support Company based in Central London is looking to employ a 2nd line support representative to join their team. Working from the office and onsite in and around London you will also be required to join our “Out Of Hours” support team operating on a rotation basis.
Salary: 22-25K dependant on experience.
Week: 37.5 hours
Hours: 09:30 to 18:00 hours Mon-Fri
Full employment conditions on application.
Responsibilities:
* Resolve in a timely manner support requests in your queue.
* Provide clear and concise support on the telephone and via email. (to technical and non-technical users)
* Employ good diagnostic and fault finding techniques at the 2nd line level.
* Make effective use of standard windows and 3rd party tools and utilities.
* Use remote connection utility to effect repairs when possible.
* Make onsite visits to resolve issues when required.
* Assist the 3rd line engineers with higher level support for both network and server issues.
* Server monitoring and reporting.
* Assist in the workshop from time to time with hardware/software builds and configuration.
Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year previous experience in IT support in the UK.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Capable of prioritising and time management.
* Organised and methodical.
* Current experience to include 2000/2003/XP/Vista workstations and server (server may be limited), active directory, backup and restores, some exchange knowledge and a good understanding of TCP/IP in multi-user environments (domains/workgroups).
* Recognise the importance and principles of security in IT.
* Good understanding of broadband and related technologies as used in small business and private installations; routers, firewalls etc.
* Good understanding of wired and wireless networks.
* Good understanding of Anti-Virus principles.
Bonus Skills: SQL, DBA, MAC, Citrix and any Comms skills.
