Typesetter
Production position available at an international publisher of dental books and journals in New Malden. We are looking for someone with proven experience working with an STM publisher. Recent experience working on a MAC with QuarkXpress and Adobe Photoshop is essential. The ability to work to a budget is necessary along with a flexible attitude and a flair for design. You should be confident, hard working and able to work unsupervised but also able to work as part of a team and in particular, closely with our Journals Publication Manager and our Sales and Marketing Manager.
The job entails:
* Design of new books
* Typesetting and correction of books and journal articles
* Checking and controlling quality of photos and images
* Typesetting and design of catalogues and leaflets
* Liaising with authors, editors and our Head Office in Berlin with regard to manuscripts and articles
* Calculating production costs for publications
* Management of freelance editors where necessary
* Updating database records
