Senior mechanical director
Are you looking to work in a progressive, design-led and become a contributor to the excellent atmosphere which exists within the team? An international consultancy are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing 'Hotels + Leisure' Mechanical and Electrical Project design team in London to work on a variety of prestigious projects with leading international architects in the UK and overseas.
Role
Leading a multidisciplinary team on a high profile hotel project for a major Client and with a leading hotel Operator , including brief travel trips overseas for design meetings with the architects (US ) and the client, but will not require extended periods abroad.
Assisting the team in leading competition submissions for winning new work with prominent International architectural practices.
Undertaking design and supervising an Mechanical and Electrical team for these projects.
You should be able to develop and encourage sustainable building design on projects
You will co-ordinate the preparation of designs and specifications in multi-disciplinary teams on projects ranging from :
Hotels
Museums & Galleries
Analysis of complex microclimates
Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs
Strengthening and developing the professional team using technical and management skills including involvement in projects from inception through to completion.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team
Requirements
Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, and have achieved Chartered status through either IMechE or CIBSE
·Extensive experience in mechanical building services design including a varied portfolio of completed projects
·Hotel design experience would be a benefit but not essential
· Experience of working overseas would be a benefit but not essential
·Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects
·Strong technical skills and high standards of accuracy
·Excellent people management skills and experience of managing staff at all levels
·Confidence to interface with clients
·Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential
·Adept at managing a varied workload and able to prioritise tasks
· Good grasp of fundamental principles with a willingness to both adapt and develop skills
· Ability to think outside your specialism and integrate multi-disciplinary requirements into holistic co-ordinated solutions.
· Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
· Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
· Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
· Excellent people management skills and experience of managing staff at all levels
·Able to quickly develop successful client relationships. Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness
