A well established mixed comprehensive school in Bethnal Green are looking for an experienced Geography teacher to start in September. This is a fantastic school in the area that offers a supportive and inspirational learning environment. In 2005 the school became a Specialist Arts College. Their pupils reflect very much the local community with a large mix of ethnicity, culture and see this diversity as one of the strengths of the school. There have been many some remarkable improvements made to the school since a recent refurbishment. One is the levels of achievement attained by our pupils. Our 5 A*-C figure at GCSE has increased from 11% in 1994 to 76% in 2007, and from being 30% behind the national average we are now almost 20% above. Just under 100% of the pupils achieve 5 A*-G passes and in 2006 over 100 pupils achieved 10 or more A*-C grades. The second is the schools ability to invest into resources computers, a brand new gym and other beneficial resources. The third change is the popularity of the school in the community. The school has a great team of local and young traveled staff that all make a positive contribution to this successful working environment. Ofsted have recently inspected the school where they came out trumps on an outstanding report!
