JOB DESCRIPTION: Promotions and Sales Assistant to the Producer for the play 'A Dog Called Redemption' by the award winning playwright Matthew Landers.
This is an exciting opportunity to further your experience and develop your skills in the fields of PR, advertising, promotions and sales. You will also have the chance to be part of both the prestigious 247 Manchester Theatre Festival and the world famous Edinburgh Festival with their amazing atmosphere and exciting events.
Who are we looking for?
Some-one who is motivated, enthusiastic, capable of selling, able to work on their own initiative and can come up with ideas for publicising and promoting the play both before and during its Manchester and Edinburgh runs.
Responsibilities of the post
To assist the Producer and other company members with:
* Advertising and promoting the play at its preview in London (5th to7th June 2008) and productions at the 247 Manchester Theatre Festival (20th to 27th July) and the Edinburgh Festival (dates: Preview: well known London Fringe Theatre, 'The Hen and Chickens' 5,6,7th of June. 247Manchester Theatre Festival (Midland Hotel) 20th to 27th July; Edinburgh Festival: one of the top Fringe venues, 'The Underbelly' 28th July to 25th August)
* Distributing posters and leaflets (3 hours minimum per day leafleting in the streets of Manchester and Edinburgh during the play's runs)
* Selling any tickets allocated to us
* Other appropriate duties as delegated by the Producer
What we are offering
* Free accommodation in Manchester, Edinburgh and London (if required)
* Travel expenses in London plus free transportation to and from Manchester and Edinburgh
* Personal expenses allowance whilst in Edinburgh of GBP70.00 per week (GBP10 per day)
* A performance bonus relating to ticket sales/audience size
