FLATMATE:
I'm the only flatmate & also the lease holder, a freelance graphic designer. The good news is that you'll have the place to yourself most of the time, as I'll be in South Africa for more than half the time of the year. The neighbours are all friendly & helpful. Two of my friends in the building are available in case of problems whilst I'm abroad.
AREA:
Trellick Tower is on Golborne Road with its lively coffee shops & cafés, & cuts into Portobello Road. No. 10, the new bar below & club upstairs is across the road, & Golborne Grove pub more or less next to it, so no need to even take a coat. All in all you don't have to go far to socialise safely.
TRAVEL:
The number 23 bus stop is in front of Trellick Tower. Westbourne Park Underground (probably your best bet) is 5 minutes walk away, & Ladbroke Grove Tube about 12 minutes. Across the Grand Union Canal, running along the north side of the building, there are other bus stops on Harrow Road. Notting Hill Tube is 20 minutes walk or a short bus ride away.
COSTS:
Single person: GBP700 per month plus GBP150 water, broadband, concierge, heating & service charges = GBP850 per month total all inclusive.
Couples: GBP800 per month plus GBP150 heating & service charges = GBP950 per month total.
